Kakadu Tourism
Since 2021, I have had the privilege of working as the lead graphic designer and marketing coordinator for Kakadu Tourism, representing two Accor hotels, Cooinda Lodge and Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel. This role has offered me the unique opportunity to immerse myself in the heart of Australia’s Top End, crafting impactful campaigns that celebrate the culture, landscapes, and experiences of Kakadu National Park. From designing visual content that captures the essence of this World Heritage-listed site to implementing strategic marketing initiatives, I have cultivated a profound connection to the region and a deep passion for sharing its extraordinary story with the world.
Website Design
-
The company website was redeveloped to enhance the customer experience and highlight Kakadu as one of Australia’s premier Indigenous-owned tourist destinations. Updates included a modernised design, improved usability, and new content, such as high-quality videography.
-
Project Management: Indigai managed the project by aligning creative ideas with web developers at Karmabunny and their technical skills.
Creative Concept Development: We created a strong visual story for the Kakadu Tourism website, capturing the area's unique landscapes and culture in our designs.
User-Centric Design: We made wireframes and prototypes that focused on user experience, ensuring easy navigation across all devices.
Visual Storytelling: We used captivating video content and imagery to showcase the beauty of Kakadu and encourage users to explore.
Brand Identity Alignment: The design effectively embodies Kakadu Tourism’s branding, emphasising its Indigenous heritage through the strategic use of the colours black, yellow, and red. The graphics creatively reinterpret Kakadu’s X-ray style of art, enhancing the region's distinctive cultural narrative and visual identity.
Design Execution: After the concept was approved, we worked with the web developers at Karmabunny to craft the visuals, ensuring every detail supported the overall message and user engagement.
Final Integration and Launch: This phase is essential for making sure all design and branding elements work together smoothly. It involves a meticulous review of each aspect of the project, including web design, signage, marketing collateral, and ad campaigns. Ensuring consistency across these elements helps maintain coherence and reinforces the brand identity, making it memorable and effective in communication. Each piece must align to tell a cohesive story that resonates with the target audience, ultimately enhancing the overall impact of the brand.
